International MULTIDISCIPLINARY OLYMPIAD

International MULTIDISCIPLINARY OLYMPIAD

OBJECTIVE:

To provide children with an unbiased assessment of their knowledge level, to receive certificates and diplomas, to apply acquired knowledge in practice, to exchange experiences, and to interact with leading universities in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Europe.

PARTICIPATION:

Children aged 7 to 22 are invited to participate.

NOMINATIONS:

English, French, Russian languages, mathematics, physics, biology, management, art, and culture.

Prizes:

Grand Prix of the Olympiad: a week-long tour of Europe!

Application deadline: November 15.

OLYMPIAD-COMPETITION in Foreign Languages:

Round I: Grammar and vocabulary test. Based on the results of Round I, participants receive Certificates with the corresponding level (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1).

Round II: Essay. Participants, according to their assigned level, write an essay on one of the proposed topics.

Round III: Dialogue. Participants communicate with the commission members on given topics. Based on the results of Rounds II and III, Diplomas are awarded according to the points received for the essay (Participant 0-29, Pass 30-59, Achievement 60-79, Excellence 80-100).

OLYMPIAD-COMPETITION in Russian Language:

Held in one round and includes grammatical, lexical, morphological tasks, and a mini-essay on a given topic.

OLYMPIAD-COMPETITION in Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and Management:

Held in one round.

OLYMPIAD-COMPETITION in “Art and Culture”:

Held in one round.

Requirements for instrumentalists and vocalists: 1 or 2 contrasting pieces of free choice or one virtuoso piece or one part of a classical sonata/concert (performance time up to 10 minutes).

Requirements for choreography: 1 or 2 numbers, with a total duration of no more than 10 minutes.

Requirements for Decorative and Applied Arts and Fine Arts: Present one finished work and defend it by reproducing a fragment in the presence of the jury (at least ¼ of the work).

JURY:

The Olympiad jury includes teachers from International schools in England, UAE, Bulgaria, Russia, and Kazakhstan.

In addition to participating in the Olympiad, the program includes presentations of European schools, colleges, and universities, as well as team competitions in football and basketball.

Requirements for participants in the “Art and Culture” nominations:

  1. Instrumentalists perform one or two pieces of free choice, with a total duration of no more than 8 minutes.
  2. Vocalists perform one or two pieces of free choice, with a total duration of no more than 8 minutes.
  3. Dancers perform one or two dances with a total duration of no more than 8 minutes.
  4. Fine arts participants present a work in any technique and defend it in front of the jury by reproducing a fragment in the presence of the jury (at least ¼ of the work).

Attention!!! This schedule is for informational purposes only. The organizing committee has the right to change the schedule of days depending on the received applications and technical necessity.

PROGRAM:

Day 1:

  • Arrival in Dubai/Sharjah.
  • Accommodation in a hotel in Sharjah after 14:00.
  • Registration of festival participants, meeting with festival organizers for group leaders in the hotel lobby (presentation of excursion programs). Dinner.

Day 2:

  • Breakfast.
  • 09:00 – 12:00 Olympiad. Rounds 1 and 2 for linguists. Main round for natural sciences.
  • 13:00 Lunch break.
  • 15:00 – 19:00 Competition auditions for the “Art and Culture” nomination. Round 3 for linguists.
  • Excursion to the Museum of the Future*.
    • The Museum of the Future is not only a new architectural marvel of Dubai but also an interesting exhibition representing a real time machine, capable of lifting the veil of time and looking several decades ahead. This unique object is a unique combination of immersive theater, entertainment center, and a fantastic exhibition of projects that are planned to be implemented by the emirate’s authorities. Visiting here, you can look into the future, feel the atmosphere of creation and progress, and see the familiar world from a new angle.
  • 19:00 Dinner.

Day 3

  • Breakfast.
  • Sightseeing tour of Dubai.
  • 19:00 Dinner.

Day 4

  • Breakfast.
  • Free day or optional excursion. Team competitions in football and basketball.
  • 19:00 Dinner.
  • 20:00 Award ceremony.
  • 21:00 Round table for leaders.

Day 5

  • Breakfast.
  • Transfer to the airport. End of the program.

Package cost with accommodation for the first 200 people: $450

Included:

  • Accommodation in a 4* hotel with breakfast and dinner.

  • Registration fee is paid additionally.
  • There is an option to book a package with a flight. Depends on the departure city.

  • Registration fee for the linguistic direction $100.
